One of the biggest news in the gaming world right now is that Microsoft acquired Minecraft and Mojang. The studio posted the news on their website along with an FAQ regarding the future of the game and Mojang.

Please remember that the future of Minecraft and you – the community – are extremely important to everyone involved. If you take one thing away from this post, let it be that.

Quickly after, Notch, Minecraft’s creator and Mojang’s founder, announced that he was leaving it all behind, feeling his project’s popularity is too big for him to handle. You can read the heartfelt post on his blog.

As soon as this deal is finalized, I will leave Mojang and go back to doing Ludum Dares and small web experiments. If I ever accidentally make something that seems to gain traction, I’ll probably abandon it immediately.

Batman: Arkham Knight and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

WB Games finally announced the release date for the much anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight! You can get your hand on it on June 2nd 2015. Check the official website to see where you can pre-order the game. As for Shadow of Middle-Earth: Mordor which was already pushed back to September 30th, sees a new delay. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will only come out on November 18th in North-America. WB Games issued the following statement in a press release:

“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will take more time in development, and the release dates for these versions are moving to November 18 in the Americas and November 21 in Europe. The street dates for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One remain September 30 in the Americas and October 3 in Europe. PC and Steam versions are now slated for release in the Americas and Europe on September 30.”

Yes, there will be a Deadpool movie!

And last but not least, Fox finally confirmed that they are doing a Deadpool Movie! It’s set to come out on February 12th, 2016. 20th Century Fox confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that actor Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller are still on the bill. In the same announcement, the studio pushed back the release of the Assassin’s Creed Movie from August 7th 2015 to sometime in 2016, citing script rewrites and production scheduling issues as the cause.
