Before playing this escape room, it’s advised that you know a little about Death Note; this way you will be fully engaged in the room, and understand the backstory. Death Note is a Japanese manga series about a supernatural notebook, which grants the owner the ability to kill anyone whose name and face he knows. The entire series is about Kira (who’s real name is Light Yagami), who is attempting to create and rule a world cleansed of evil using the notebook.

The escape room itself is completely based on the series. In this room, all criminals worldwide have inexplicably died of heart attacks. The anonymous murderer is, of course, “Kira”. The famous detective “L” sends you with your FBI team to Japan to help solve the case. The mission of this escape room is to infiltrate high school student Light Yagami’s chamber, who is suspected of being the killer.  However, you are ambushed and you find yourself trapped. Complete your mission to unravel Kira’s secrets. This is the only way to defeat him before he kills you.

Who doesn’t love haunted pirate ships? During the demolition of one of the oldest buildings on the island, an old shipwreck was uncovered. The ship belonged to Bernardin Nageon de L’Estang nicknamed “Le Butin”. He spent his whole life finding the legendary treasure of one of the most famous pirates of all times called “La Buse” (Olivier Levasseur).

Legend has it, before “La Buse” was publicly hung for his piracy crimes, he threw his necklace in the crowd while exclaiming: “Find my treasure, the one who may understand it!”. The necklace contained a 17-line cryptogram. After 70 years, “Le Butin” claimed he finally cracked the code and is going to collect the treasure. That was the last time anybody has ever heard of him. Many say that the treasure was cursed, and that “Le Butin” fell as one of its victims.

The secret might still be on the shipwreck, your job is to try to find it. Enter, if you dare!

Synopsis

Before the arrival of European settlers, the town site of Our Lady of Martyrs already had a reputation as a cursed place. In addition to the story of the massacre that six farmers committed in 1704, it has been rumoured that in the 19th century this place was chosen to practice human sacrifice. The city had almost disappeared in 1931 when a fire destroyed most of the buildings, including a psychiatric hospital that housed more than a hundred patients. Although the city was rebuilt in the decades that followed, pure evil had spread through the population. The birth rate remained normal, the number of children born with deformities constantly increasing. Claiming pollution from the quarry nearby, the authorities finally decided to relocate the population in 1953. The date was set for the big move, however the officers who where scheduled to escort the residents to their new homes found themselves in a ghost town. They found no trace of the 2,000 residents. Today, children of the region know that we do not play in the ruins of Our Lady of Martyrs after sunset … So what are you doing here?

You have a choice to play through one of five scenarios:

  • Do you wish to join the team of archaeologists who strayed into the forest?
  • Want to see with your own eyes the mutants who, according to local people, are wandering the mountain?
  • Are you looking for satellite debris that might have crashed on the mountain?
  • Have you received the call from SECT?
  • Do you want to prove to your friends that you are brave enough to spend the night on the mountain-six martyrs?

This is definitely not a night for the faint hearted. Although there are 3 different levels/packages to choose from, they are all still pretty intense. During the experiment you can be splashed with blood or other suspicious liquids, have your head covered with a hood, be trapped in a small space, forced to eat disgusting things, or even separated from the safety of your friends and become completely isolated.
