While playing Dead Rising 4 I found myself oddly inspired. My holiday spirit (both in-game and out) was fuelled by Willamette’s beautifully decorated streets, streaked with red and the hordes of zombies exploding into festively coloured bits thanks to my seasonally appropriate weapons.

I was so inspired in fact, that while I hummed along to the game’s soundtrack, filled with familiar holiday tunes, I made a few lyrical adjustments to a well loved melody that Frank West himself would be proud of…

Best sung at a high volume while playing multiplayer mode with friends, and to the tune of Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song”:

Bodies roasting on an open fire

Jack Frost ripping off your nose

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir

And folks dressed up like EVOs

Frank West meets EVOs

Everybody knows a burrito and a

Blambow help to make the season bright

Maniacs with their eyes all aglow

Will find it hard to sleep tonight

Frank & his Trusty Blambow

They know that Frank West is on his way

He’s loaded lots of toys and explosives on his slay

And every mother’s Child is gonna cry

When they see that Zombies really know how to fly

Hear Those Slay Bells Ringing

And so, I’m offering this simple phrase

to undead from one to three thousand and two

Altho’ it’s been said many times many ways

“A deadly Christmas to you”

So whether you’re stomping on zombies or sipping eggnog by the light of the Dead Rising yule log this season, you’ll at least have a catchy tune to keep you company. Happy Holidays!
